Frequently Asked Questions

What audio formats does Reel support?

Reel records in 32-bit float WAV format end to end. Every project, every recording, and every export is 32-bit float at your chosen sample rate (44.1kHz, 48kHz, or 96kHz). Any incoming audio from hardware that does not support 32-bit float is converted to 32-bit float to match the project. You can export in WAV, AIFF (both 32-bit float), or M4A (AAC).

Where are my recordings stored?

All recordings are stored locally on your device in the app's documents folder. If you have iCloud enabled for Reel, recordings may also sync to your iCloud account.

Does Reel require an internet connection?

No. Reel works entirely offline. An internet connection is only needed if you choose to enable iCloud sync or export recordings via email or cloud services.

How do I export my recordings?

Tap on any recording in the library, then use the share button to export via AirDrop, email, Files, or any other compatible app on your device.

What devices are supported?

Reel is designed for iPhone and requires iOS 18 or later. For the best experience, we recommend iPhone 12 or newer.

How do I use the jog wheel?

Rotate the disc on screen to scrub through your recording. The jog wheel provides haptic feedback to simulate mechanical resistance. Spin speed controls the scrub rate — slow rotations for precise positioning, fast spins for rapid navigation.

Can I record multiple tracks?

Yes. Reel supports up to 4 tracks per recording. You can layer tracks, adjust volume and pan for each track independently using the built-in mixer.

How do I delete recordings?

In the Reel Library, swipe left on any recording to delete it. You can also delete all recordings at once from Settings > Data > Delete All Recordings.
